"YO GEN...... you do theatre too?"
Where it alllllll began....
*cue dramatic music*
Picture it, the summer of '13 a young impressionable Genny Batts walks into Marietta high school to start her freshman year. Friend groups scale the hallways and there I was alone and not apart of anything...yet. I gave my self a goal: by the end of the year i needed to be involved in at least ONE extra-curriculum activity. So in August I threw all my eggs in one basket and took the safe route, I auditioned for the Marietta dance ensemble. two weeks later i was on the team back to what I do best , dancing my heart out. After about three months of being on the team , Mrs.Garcia (the dance teacher) told the team about that we had the opportunity to be apart of schools drama production of "Peter Pan".

I had never really been a fan of theatre I, always found it to be cliche. In this case , however , I decided to give it a chance because i wanted to put myself out there as much as possible. Ever since then i have been obsessed with theatre and musical theatre, i was hooked, i enjoyed being on stage in a c completely different light and getting to embody different characters . After being apart of 'Peter Pan" my freshman year I was in four other productions at my school including "Shrek the Musical", "Hairspray", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat" and "Sister Act"
